HDS announces the immediate availability of 200GB SAS flash drives (sometimes referred to as SSDs), 600GB SAS hard drives
and 2TB SATA hard drives for the Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2000 family.

The new SAS and SATA hard drives increase the maximum raw capacity for each of the systems:

The new flash drives can be installed in either the drive slots in controller trays or the standard disk trays. The maximum
quantities per model are:
- 15 flash drives per Adaptable Modular Storage 2100 or 2300 frame
- 30 flash drives per Adaptable Modular Storage 2500 frame
Additional information about flash drives:
- Usable capacity is 195.8GB per disk
- Up to 80,000 read and up to 40,000 write IOPS per disk
- Flash disks have a SAS interface
- RAID-0, -1, -1+0, -5, and -6 are all supported
- All program products, with the exception of Power Savings, are supported with flash drives
- Hard drives and flash drives can be intermixed in the same tray
- Flash drives are not supported in high density expansion trays
- Flash drives and hard drives cannot be intermixed within the same RAID group
